[linux-dvb] will there ever be a vdr/dtv/dvd software?

hi,
i currently try to build a set-top-box using mandrake 8.0, kernel 2.4.5, xfs
filesystem (still no patch).
i think vdr is a GREAT tool to record digital tv and play the recordings,
but dtv is much more comfortable in watching TV. And i also need a dvd
player like Matjaz Thaler did! So why should there be three great coder with
three great tools? make it one for all! Will u?
