I really don't understand why these people can't simply adhere to the
standards!? It would all be so easy if they just sent their event times
in UTC and let the local machine take care of any "localtime" conversions.
Introducing additional parameters for time offsets and DST-flags per channel
would make things unnecessarily complicated. Of course we could do that, but
wouldn't it be WAY better if the tv stations simply did things the _standard_
way?

Have you tried calling them on the phone and asking why they don't do this
as defined by the standard?
