[linux-dvb] proper installation of the debian driver-source package

hello list
i don't really understand how to use the debs.i followed the docs as far as 
it was possible (copying files from non-debian source etc.),but never was 
able to actually build the modules with make-kpkg.
And i still don't understand one thing is it possible to let modutils handle 
the loading of the drivers?i never figured out a working modules.conf.
