[linux-dvb] Re: Nova-CI:

I'm sorry to have to disappoint you, but the common interface is
not supported because we have no information from the vendor how
it works. I added a note to Kconfig accordingly.
(Due to the different board layout the Nove-CI needs its own
driver, which functionally equivalent to the non-CI version.)
My experience with the NOVA-CI card is:
None of these cards work reliable together with a Nexus-S.
In one System I have three Nova-S-cards. They work reliable
together with the Nexus-S-card.
In the other system I have one Nexus-S card.
Each of the above mentioned Nova-S-card cooperate with the Nexus-S
in the second system. None of the two Nova-CI-cards work in either
system. As soon as they start recording, I get errors and after
a short period an emergency-exit. The two systems have different
Motherboards. And I doubt, that both Nova-Ci-cards have a defect.
Might be that a Nova-CI-card without attached CAM work as a single
card in a system. I never gave it a try, 'cause it would be no
solution for my needs.
