[linux-dvb] Re: empty /dev/dvb/ ?!

Sorry,

thought that this was a more general problem....

Here's some /var/log/messages output:

# modprobe budget

---> log output:

May 8 21:57:03 ambassadeur saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb'

After your advice I tried this

# modprobe budget-av

----> log output:

May  8 21:57:03 ambassadeur saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb'.May  8
22:05:29 ambassadeur Linux video capture interface: v1.00
May 8 22:05:29 ambassadeur saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb /w video
in'.
May  8 22:05:29 ambassadeur saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem f8a83000 (revision 1,
irq 5) (0x1131,0x4f56).
May 8 22:05:29 ambassadeur DVB: registering new adapter (KNC1 DVB-S).
May  8 22:05:29 ambassadeur probe_tuner: try to attach to KNC1 DVB-S
May  8 22:05:30 ambassadeur drivers/media/dvb/frontends/stv0299.c: setup for
tuner BSRU6, TDQB-S00x
May 8 22:05:30 ambassadeur DVB: registering frontend 0:0
(STV0299/TSA5059/SL1935 based)...
May  8 22:05:30 ambassadeur KNC1 DVB-S adapter 0 failed MAC signature check
May 8 22:05:30 ambassadeur encoded MAC from EEPROM was
ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
May  8 22:05:30 ambassadeur budget_av: budget_av_attach(): cannot init
saa7113.

Then

# modprobe budget-ci

----> log output

May  8 22:10:22 ambassadeur saa7146: register extension 'budget_ci dvb'.

I found entries in /dev/dvb/ after loading budget-av. Wow. Maybe I should
start some testing now..

Thanks,
Till
