Are you sure that it ever worked since those changes?

I checked a couple of different revisions:
 - 2004-06-22 (old dvb-i2c) works
 - 2004-06-23 (kernel-i2c and new firmware upload) leads to immediate
frontend crash
 - 2004-06-24 frontend doesn't crash, but from here on it exhibits the
tuning behaviour that I discribed in my previous mail

I also tried single revisions of the alps_tdlb7.c file and I'm going now
to try every single change that was introduced inbetween 1.19 and 1.20.
(I have the feeling that the problem may come from the changed firmware
upload and not from the transition to kernel-i2c, but it's just a feeling).

Cheers,
Juri
