[linux-dvb] /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 missing

I'm trying to get the dvb drivers working in gentoo 2.6.9. They work if 
they are
compiled in the kernel, but now I'm trying to get them to load as 
modules. Below is part of
my .config file. After 'make menuconfig' I ran 'make && make 
modules_install'.

lsmod shows:

Why no frontend0?
