Where did you that loopthrough can be switches off?

The "loopthru" and an external "switch" are totally different
pair of shoes.
To use "loop thru" you musst apply something like the "LNB_sharing_patch"
to ensure both cards are using the same polarization (v/h) and
the same LFO (Lo/hi).
Too the LNB voltages reguators may be switched of because of
overload/reverse voltage. If your LNB gets it power not
independently you may get a back image...
If you have 2 cables it's better to use a "switch".
Too the damping of the loopthru is high.
The loop thru is nowaday supersuperflous.
If yu can, get cards without loop thru.
