It seems we have sort of the same problem here. I compiled me a 
2.6.10-rc3 kernel with the modules you loaded yourself. I managed to get 
a /dev/dvb/adapter0 directory and there I found

demux0  dvr0  frontend0  net0

How do I go about testing this? Shouldn't I get a video0 device also?
