[linux-dvd] Driver Troubles

Using pcmcia 3.2.0, kernel at 2.4.18, xfs, v4linux /proc option turned on 
(oddly not video node exists in the /proc tree), no kernel pcmcia support:

I get the following when attempting to play a vob with either the testsuite's 
playfile program, ntuxplayer or margiplayer:

convdvd : Video Decoder Prepare failed: no kernel memory, please reboot if 
possible

I need help trying to figure this problem out as hacking module code is well 
outside my expertise.
