Well, I don't need all that for just listening to a CD... if you have a
really bad cd, yes, use cdparanoia/cdda2wav/cdrdao to make a good copy
that you could listen then without any problem.
If listening to a CD should take me 99% of my CPU (like cdparanoia
does), then I power down my computer and take my stereo for it ;-))

So I think it could be the right choice ;-))
