[vdr] Re: Will these work for linux?



I heard, but it might have been Direct TV though, that
you can take cards from one box to the other, they're
just fried when a signal is sent to the box.  It was
on the news a year or so ago that kids were taking
cards that had soft porn channels subscribed on them
but their friends box didn't have the adult lock on
the box set up.  I know a few people that have Dish
Networks, so I'll try it.  And I do know that Direct
TV personal can make 'unmaked cards' that don't check
the box, so maybe I'll let mine get fried a few times
and play dumb: 'I have no idea why my card keeps
getting fried, I never take it anywhere.' and maybe
the guy will get sick of making me cards and make me
one with out the code that looks for the box I.D.

Also, I'm sure that if the Nagravision cams don't
decode it I'm sure someone has written a software side
like you said, but none the less I think I'm going to
switch to Dish Networks from AT&T cable, so I'll play
around with it.
