[vdr] Re: OT: Flat Antenna useable?
ulope@gmx.de(Ulrich Petri) 29.05.02 15:17
Once upon a time Ulrich Petri shaped the electrons to say...
>Hi,
>i'm going to move to a new house, and don't know yet if its allowed to
>use "traditional" sat antennas ("schüsseln"), so my question is has
>anyone of you used a flat antenna with a DVB-S and vdr? does it work?
Most people forgets, that the dishes are "offset antennas".
That means:
One can place the dish horizotal(!) on a balkony like a desk...
Viewn from street such a dish is often unvisble!
Ok, you need to drill a small whole n the dish for the rain,
and snow might make more work.
When you use a flat anntenna horizontal (i assune that those
have an offset too?) nobody would realize that this a a sat anntenna.
Of cause no whole is needed for the rain :-)
Anyway: The next time i move, I would move only to a
house were dishes are allowed, or are at least "central"!
But attention:
In some areas the one and only cable company it trying to
abuse it's monopole and the comunity/local administrations forbits
any sat-receiption! Poor guys.
