[vdr] Hardware question

Hello together,
i have vdr running on an HP Vectra.
That has the problem that it's not 
possible to use the nvwakeup-program.
There is no option in the BIOS.
So now i want to build a perfectly working
vdr machine. It should have enough power to
use all the options of vdr, including DVD replay
or what ever needs a lot of cpu power.
After this it should be as silent and cheap as possible. :-)
I hope that you can give me some advice 
which mb/cpu combination to buy.
(Please - a motherboard on which you are shure 
that the nvwakeup-program works without problems)
