I haven't tried cvs version for a while but at least for me S-video works 
with siemens_dvb-0.9.4-2002-06-23.patch.tar.bz2, you just have to add 
vidmode=2 parameter to driver/Makefile, like insmod $(CARD).o init_chan=2 
pids_off=0 vidmode=2;
