In your runvdr script, add something like 
../DVB/apps/av7110_loadkeys/av7110_loadkeys ../APPS/apps/av7110_loadkeys/hauppauge.rc5 > /proc/av7110_ir
after the lines which load the driver. Finally, add the option -Premote to the vdr command line.
