Hi Helmut, all,
Terribly sorry for the late answer, but I am way behind on the ML
(about 700 posts unread and ~ 1000 which need to be sorted into
the right folders ;o))
P.S: All who are still awaiing an answer from me: please bear with
me. I'll answer ASAP.
But I haven't been idle ;o))
> Any news about your status ? Could you rewrite your lost modifications ?
Yes, as a matter of fact the second time around I actually was
able to make a few improvements.
Right now, here is what I still would like to implement before I
make the next release (yes, I backed it up this time ;o))
- work on AC3 Adaption (i.e implement Stefan's AC-3 Patch into the mod)
- implement a help button (I`m trying to make manuals readable on screen)
- timers: be able to say Full record, record audio only, only view
I started on this, but realized I was doing something dumb, as I changed
the timers.conf. Now, Klaus wouldn't like this AND external programs
wouldn't be able to set up the timers correctly. So I am currently working
on a different scheme, which returns the original timers.conf and uses
bit comparision to enable the above recording possibilties. I'm almost
there (I hope ;o)) External programs can return timers just as usual. If
these coders change their output slightly they can also set up timers, like
one can from within VDR. If they output a wrong value (bug or whatever)
the timers will be written so that VDR records everything (i.e. worst case
least loss scenario)
- Still working on the summary button feature
- Small code & menu apprearance clean up (not all menus are interactive yet)
- maybe calendaer patch: This really depends on how much work it will turn
out to be (only stable will be released ;o))
> Wouldn't it be better to integrate in VDR directly ( if Klaus likes it
>too ), or will you make a Patch like AIO ?
For now it will be a full release. Later, after porting it to 1.2.? stable
it will become a AIO (most likely Andy & I will join patches, so that
there is only one to maintain). During my port work to 1.2 stable, I
can try and feed Klaus, some diffs (he will have to tell me what he
likes ;o)). As I try to make all functions switchable (turned off = uses
original VDR code as far as possible), it shouldn't be too bad to
patch it.

Cough, cough, yes maybe I should have.................. ;o))

Reinhard
