[vdr] AC3 to DVD

I've been trying to get the AC3 sound from a VDR recording to a DVD during the last days.
Unfortunately I didn't succeed, so I would like to ask some questions to the mailing list.

I use the ds.jar to demultiplex the 001.vdr and get a 001.mpv 001.mp2 and 001.ac3.
The ac3 comes from "private stream 1"

If I use the Mpeg Sound for remultiplexing everything works like expected.
But with the ac3 the resulting DVD cannot be played in a standalone Player (just strange noise).

Nevertheless I can replay It using mplayer on my laptop.
For Audio it says:
Opening audio decoder: [liba52] AC3 decoding with liba52
Using SSE optimized IMDCT transform
AC3: 2.0 (stereo) 48000 Hz 448.0 kbit/s
Using MMX optimized resampler
AUDIO: 48000 Hz, 2 ch, 16 bit (0x10), ratio: 56000->192000 (448.0 kbit)
Selected audio codec: [a52] afm:liba52 (AC3-liba52)

I think that is strange. Also ac3dec reports "2.0 Mode 48.0 KHz 448 kbps".
But I can't believe that it is only a 2 channel AC3.

As to my understanding the ac3 is somehow wrapped in the private stream and a stereo PCM.
So do I have to unwrapp it before mplexing it? Can anyone point out a tool to do this?
Has anyone managed to get 5.1 AC3 from a VDR recording to a DVD ? How ?

Thanks for any hints
