[vdr] Re: Convert a DVD to a vdr recording

Sorry for late answer. Did you find a good solution yet?
It is to much effort to rip many of them, the dvd-plugins works
unreliable, the dvd-plugins does have a different user interface than
playing vdr recordings, ... There are a lot of reasons for me why I
prefer normal vdr recordings.
I used to use vobcopy (simple command line tool to rip DVD, either
mirroring all or just the main film without menus ...).
I just renamed the .vob to .vdr and ran genindex.
All this could be easily done in a tiny script run from vdr menu.
Most of my DVDs (which are not too many) worked, for some the sound was
missing and one which has angles got totally mixed up.
But my vopcopy version may be outdated and your children DVDs should
work I guess
PS: had no time to continue with the streamtype stuff. Thanks for your
offer, but I think I backuped old driver sources, so if I know the crash
with the current version is not my fault, I`ll find an old version,
otherwise I`ll aks again.
