[vdr] Re: Convert a DVD to a vdr recording

Sorry for late answer. Did you find a good solution yet?

I used to use vobcopy (simple command line tool to rip DVD, either mirroring all or just the main film without menus ...).
I just renamed the .vob to .vdr and ran genindex.
All this could be easily done in a tiny script run from vdr menu.

Most of my DVDs (which are not too many) worked, for some the sound was missing and one which has angles got totally mixed up.
But my vopcopy version may be outdated and your children DVDs should work I guess

Greetings

Michael

PS: had no time to continue with the streamtype stuff. Thanks for your offer, but I think I backuped old driver sources, so if I know the crash with the current version is not my fault, I`ll find an old version, otherwise I`ll aks again.
