Hi,

I did some tests at home at weekend. From WinXP to WinXP I was able to
copy 3 GByte of Data in around 10 minutes, so it is not a thing of
performance - but on signal quality that causes blocks when using the
streaming plugin. As I heard from friends, UDP nearly has no error
correction, so I believe that I often lose packages. When using a hub
directly after a wall socket for the last 20m of cable (of 50m), the
signal gets nearly perfect.
Additionally, I checked if I use really ISDN wall sockets or LAN sockets
as a lot of people told me that if I had to screw the network cable, it
would be an ISDN wall socket. But I looked at the package and it clearly
says LAN socket CAT6, although the cables are connected with screws.
So I still really wonder why signal quality gets so bad after 50m. Are
CAT6 network sockets with screws worse than those other sockets? Or do I
expect too much from the UDP protocol?

With kind regards

Jörg
