[vdr] renaming recordings

I would like to implement the feature "rename", but do not
know some details.
Some time ago I asked some questions, but didn't get an
answer.

So here again my questions. Maybe someone could help me.

Hello,
I am trying to write a little patch for vdr to
* remove the leading "%", after a recording has been
cutted.
* change the priority and the lifetime of an existing
recording.

vdr is storing this information within the directory name.
Does anyone know how to change the directory name using
c/c++?
Now I am using a "mv" command.
But isn't there a better way?

My second problem is, that vdr is storing the files in
different directories (/video1, /video2 ...) and concenates
them by links.
Since I am not familiar in handling these link files, does
anyone know a simple solution so that I can
scan/rename/change all necessary files to keep the
file/directory structure of vdr clean?
