Yes, this is a known issue. The plugin developers believe it to be a problem
with the Dxr3 drivers or firmware - the 'OSD' was really only ever intended
for showing DVD 'subpictures' (subtitles) and not for updating a display
maybe 10 times per second, hence the problem of fast scrolling causing a
crash.
There is a workaround. Look into the dxr3 plugin source directory - you should
see em8300_patch.diff. Apply this to a CVS Dxr3 driver source code (it won't
work on the 0.13 release) and recompile.
Now the VDR dxr3 plugin will auto detect when the Dxr3 has crashed, and
re-initialise it...
