I've got this messages some time ago. I have a Asus Motherboard with nforce Chip, this
chips with dma support for ide are supported in kernel 2.4.21-pre3 and above. Between
2.4.21-pre3 and the final 2.4.21 kernel there are some kernels which didn't work very
well, so i got the above symptoms/error messages. At the moment i use dvb driver from
10.07.2003 and vdr-1.2.1 without problems.
