Hi,

I forgot to mention, that although my fifos are named "deviceX.vdr", they do 
not supply the data usually contained in files with extension ".vdr". This may 
be the cause, why some people got xine to crash when opening just the fifo 
file. You must use the MRL from the INSTALL documentation.

Are there any suggestions on choosing a different extension?

BTW: release 0.0.2 still uses the Makefile variable VIDEODIR.
