[vdr] VDR 1.3.0 with DXR3 crashes

I am experiencing quite frequent crashes with vanilla VDR 1.3.0 using DXR3 plugin. DXR3 plugin is only plugin used in my tests and log shows following entries after crash:

Jan 6 13:44:26 bishop kernel: Fifo still full, trying stop c649a440
Jan 6 13:44:26 bishop vdr[11151]: ERROR: ring buffer overflow (89 bytes dropped)
Jan 6 13:44:26 bishop vdr[11151]: ERROR: ring buffer overflow (188 bytes dropped)
Jan 6 13:44:29 bishop last message repeated 10510 times
Jan 6 13:44:29 bishop kernel: em8300.o: FIFO sync timeout during blocking write, n = 2039, copy_size = 0, total = 0, free slots = 0
Jan 6 13:44:29 bishop vdr[11151]: ERROR: ring buffer overflow (188 bytes dropped)
Jan 6 13:44:29 bishop last message repeated 11 times
Jan 6 13:44:30 bishop kernel: adv717x.o: Configuring for PAL
Jan 6 13:44:30 bishop kernel: em8300_audio.o: Analog audio enabled
Jan 6 13:44:30 bishop kernel: em8300: Microcode version 0x29 loaded
Jan 6 13:44:30 bishop kernel: adv717x.o: Configuring for PAL
Jan 6 13:44:30 bishop vdr[11151]: ERROR: ring buffer overflow (188 bytes dropped)

Ctash seems to occur mostly when changing channel. Driver versions are 1 December 2003 for em8300 and 13 November 2003 for dvb. Box includes following hardware:

Hauppauge Nova-T
Hollywood+ with adv717x
SB PCI128
Realtek 8139 NIC
Elsa GF2 MX400
440BX Motherboard Abit BH6
450MHz Celeron
256MB sdram
20GB IBM 5400rpm DeskStar
350W Enermax power supply

Am I only one experiencing these problems? Earlier versions of VDR/DXR3 were more stable but even with them I experienced usually multiple crashes per day (these were not tested without patching and other plugins because VDR is not very usable without them in my case). I am also thinking about getting full featured dvb-card but these cards seem to only offer composite tv-out connector. Any suggestions what I could try to stabilize things?
