one way (but probably not the most convinient :-( ) is to create a new 
recordings directory (following the VDR naming conventions) and to link 
the .vdr files of your episodes into it. Then apply the genindex 
(http://www.muempf.de) tool to this directory to create the index.vdr.
The new directory should be playable with vdr then.
