[vdr] Re: "sparse-copy" ?



The cutting thread does mostly copy many blocks/data fully unchanged,
what we would need, is a sparse-copy-filesystem.

To make this work one would need not only tails (like in reiserfs) but even 
"head-tails" + some copy-on-write-feature for unchanged (but more than once 
linked) blocks.

That would completly avoid copying most of the blocks, and only the blocks the 
cutting-marks sit in would need to be duplicated.

Such a filesystem would be nice for any kind of video-editing...
