[vdr] VDR newbie; problems with /dev/video0 etc

Hi all,

I just installed vdr 1.2.6 and kvdr 0.61 from Debian packages.
I have a "DPANDA" DVB-T card (tda1004x/budget-ci) and an Avermedia
DVB-T card (sp887x/dvb-bt8xx).

I set up the channels.conf with scan. The vdr daemon starts OK.

If I have drivers for both cards loaded, when I run kvdr I get the
window displayed but blank, and the following from the kernel:

Feb 19 00:05:52 tv kernel: bttv0: reset, reinitialize
Feb 19 00:05:52 tv kernel: bttv0: IRQ lockup, cleared int mask [bits: GPINT*]
Feb 19 00:05:52 tv kernel: bttv0: timeout: irq=2121/230816, risc=1ee0103c, bits:
 HSYNC GPINT
Feb 19 00:06:30 tv kernel: bttv0: reset, reinitialize
Feb 19 00:06:30 tv kernel: bttv0: IRQ lockup, cleared int mask [bits: GPINT*]
Feb 19 00:06:31 tv kernel: bttv0: timeout: irq=3668/232363, risc=1ee0103c, bits:
 FMTCHG VSYNC HSYNC GPINT RISCI
Feb 19 00:06:31 tv kernel: bttv0: reset, reinitialize
Feb 19 00:06:31 tv kernel: bttv0: IRQ lockup, cleared int mask [bits: GPINT*]
Feb 19 00:06:32 tv kernel: bttv0: timeout: irq=3688/232383, risc=1ee0101c, bits:
 VSYNC HSYNC GPINT RISCI

That card is /dev/dvb/adapter1, so I don't know why it went for that.
It also prints a message saying that kvdr and v4l-conf disagree on the
geometry or similar.

If I run without the dvb-bt8xx/sp887x modules loaded, vdr (daemon)
starts OK and when I run kvdr, I get a popup saying it couldn't open
/dev/video0 and indeed if I try to cat that device, it says "No such
device". I don't know why the two cards would be different in that
respect though.

I'm a bit lost at this point. Any suggestions?
I might try the vdr plugin for xine instead of kvdr, in case that helps.

Thanks,
Hamish
