Sorry to post on this topic again, but just for the records (and people who
have similar problems): I also had segfaults yesterday. Furthermore,
MPlayer-1.0-Pre4 and MP3-Plugin-0.9.1 showed strange behaviours like hangups
when scanning the DivX directory. So I set again LC_LANG again to a
non-UTF-8 value, and now MPlayer (and VDR) seem to work as expected.
But I still have to make further tests...
