[vdr] Systems which work properly with either nvram- or acpi-wakup...

Can I get peoples experiences of using both nvram-wakeup and
acpi-wakeup?

After much fiddling about, I have come to the conclusion that
nvram-wakup isn't supported by the MoBo in my vdr box (Aopen AK77 pro),
and I have also come to the conclusion that ACPI is broken on it (it
ignores any ACPI alarms that I set and has taken to powering itself on
about 10 seconds after I shut it down (good job the PSU has a power
switch too!).

With this board, lspci -vv gives me:

And dmesg | grep -i acpi:

acpid works fine: I can prod the power button and it shuts down cleanly
(and the restarts 10 s later!).

What setups have people got acpi-or nvram-wakup working properly, so
that vdr shuts down and starts up when required for a timer?

It's getting to the point where I want to buy a new motherboard but I
want to be sure that it will work with either acpi- or nvram-wakeup!

Cheers,

Laz
