xineliboutput frontend sometimes hangs

Hi, When I switch from any channel to channel 1 ( ARD / Das Erste ). it happens sometimes that the vdr-??fe freezes. I have tried vdr-fbfe and vdr-sxfe, and xineliboutput 1.00rc2 and also the cvs version. The error was not always the same: with vdr-fbfe I have to kill and restart it, with vdr-sxfe the screen blanks on channel 1 and I can zap to other channels which were fine, but back to 1 gets a blank screen. After restarting vdr-sxfe everything's fine again. Any hints what's causing this problem ? -- Helmut Auer, helmut(a)helmutauer.de

Hi, I'm pleased to announce the long awaited release 0.8.0, which integrates the vdr-xine-network patch. You can find it on my homepage: http://home.vr-web.de/~rnissl Excerpt from HISTORY: 2007-10-24: Version 0.8.0 - Frame duration was not set correctly in xine-lib for H.264 frames, causing frame drops an non fluent playback. - Added network patch (thanks to Tobias Grimm for supplying it). Although I had planned to optimize it to just use one port and only two sockets, I decided to release it in its current state instead of waiting further years. I've just modified it to use a more xine-like MRL netvdr://host:port#demux:mpeg_pes where port is optional (defaults to 18701). The fifo MRL should now be written vdr://tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes, although a single slash will still work, too. - Updated et_EE.po (thanks to Arthur Konovalov for supplying the file). - Fixed a bug in vdr-xine's buffer handling for live TV mode which got most noticeable when switching back from a H.264 channel to a MPEG2 channel, especially when the machine was not capable of playing the H.264 stream in real time. As the buffer was not cleared when switching channels, old H.264 data was sent to xine instead of new MPEG2 data, which caused xine to incorrectly switch to H.264 mode. This behavior could lead to a crash in FFmpeg later. - Fixed OSD handling in vdr-xine as certain subtitles could cause a memory corruption in xine (thanks to Arthur Konovalov for providing sample recordings). VDR 1.5.10, Subtitles gets out of sync

Great that the subtitles are now part of the VDR. Unfortunately, there seems to be some problems still. I tested this new VDR version for some minutes and noticed that some subtitles were shown too late in live tv watching. I didn't check how the timing of subtitles is done, but it seemed that VDR missed one "sync-point" and after that all the subtitles were shown one "sync-point" too late. Channel change seemed to correct the situation for a while. Similar problem was seen on two channels, so I think that the broadcast was ok in this case. Also, I haven't seen similar problems earlier with subtitles-plugin. I didn't notice this kind of error either when viewing recordings made with subtitles-plugin. I didn't test yet if the problem can be seen also with recordings made with 1.5.10, but I think I can test that later today. Testing was done with VDR 1.5.10 without any plugins, TT FF 2.1 DVB-C card and YLE 2 and YLE Teema channels here in Finland. Anyone else seen this kind of problems? -- Tero

switch xine/hw decoders on the fly?

Hi Can you switch MPEG decoders on the fly, perhaps through a macro/user key? I have one box which I share between two LCD screens. One attached to the VGA (using vdr-xine output) and the other attached to the composite output of my TT-2300 dvb-c card. Can I switch outputs without reconfiguring/restarting VDR? Thanks Simon

remote control and nexus-s CI module

Hello, My issue is not strictly VDR related, but I'm using my DVB card exclusively with VDR for about 2 years. I have a nexus-s FF card with Hauppauge grey remote, and it's working ok. Recently I added a CI module to my sistem (with a Cryptoworks module). If the CI is connected with the flat cable to the FF daughterboard the remote stops working, although it is detected when i'm loading the dvb driver (dvb_ttpci) as av_7110_ir controller, and I have /dev/input/event3 but the rc is no more detected by the remote plugin. Hello VDR community IPTV plugin developers are proud to present a new release of the plugin. This plugin is our attempt to transform VDR into a full-blown IPTV receiver. This version features numerous small bug fixes and enhancements and one major new feature: Support for external streaming applications. In short this means that reception capabilities are not limited only to MPEG1/2 TS. Instead you can do all sorts of wild and crazy things with IPTV limited only by external application support and transcoding performance. For example we have successfully used VLC media player to receive and feed mp3 internet radio stream to the IPTV plugin. VDR will then receive this data and handle it as any other radio channel. Also reception of various video formats such as Windows media mms streams is working with VLC and IPTV plugin. Hello, Linowsat (http://www.linowsat.com/settings/vdr/unsorted/0282/fta-tv.conf) has listings for both Channel 4 and Five as FTA. I know they are FTV on Sky. When I try to watch I have EPG data and femon shows signal but I have no image or sound. Is this a Linowsat error or am I doing something wrong? HowTo find problem in VDR

Hi, I have here the problem that vdr 1.5.10 will not run anymore. So I tried to debug it but I had problems with it. I ran it with gdb vdr then inserted run I got: Starting program: /usr/local/video/vdr-1.5.10/vdr Failed to read a valid object file image from memory. [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread -1213470528 (LWP 5278)] Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switching to Thread -1213470528 (LWP 5278)] 0x0bf3d086 in ??
