That's not bad, The Sat-Express cards have solid state tuners ( what i 
understood ?), ie all silicon tuner.
This tuner has a bad signal sensitivity compared to standard tuners.

But probably it is not that bad also. but looping from another tuner is 
known to introduce more noise. So i don't understand how come your 
signal improves after looping through the STB.
