My driver supports many cards, with different frontends, but I have only one type of remotes.
So I personally prefer to integrate. Just add your keymap to existing one and replace the 
firmware. But I suspect, that there is firmware, which supports all remotes. So, the difference 
may be only keymap and PCI ID.
Feel free to send patches, but don't forget to sign them.
