[mpeg2] no sound with a Hauppauge WinTV PVR

Hello,

I have a use Hauppauge WinTV PVR (the old one - plain without a number,
not a 150, 350 or so ). I got it working, but without sound - it is
silent with any program like tvtime or mythtv.

I read found a lot trouble messages about this with the solution to
fix the line-in settings of the sound mixer. To be sure, that this
is not my problem, I did two things:
* plugged an ipod in line-in of the computer and could hear the
ipod-sound. So my line-in settings should be OK
* I plugged an speaker direkt to line-out of the tv card, but could
not hear anything.

I am not sure if the card-hardware is OK, since it is an old, used
card.

I read a few bits about this card having sound problems, like:
http://pvr.sourceforge.net/ This driver seems long outdated. Is there
a more current version anywhere?

Are any options important for the modules (bttv oder tuner or any other)?

I would like to get this cartd working with sound. Has anybody this card
working with sound?
