[vdr] DXR3 jams the whole system

Yes, most likely. However, you could get similar results with process
messing whole system with root privileges, but this is not the most
likely reason.

It can be someting else also. Kernel responds ping even when it is
halted. Some firewalls are running kernel to halt. Or system can just
be in strange 'state'.
