Shouldn't this be like that:

	export LANG="en_GB.iso8859-1"

> export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1
> export LC_CTYPE="en_GB at euro"
> ulimit -Sc1000000000

I use ulimit to get a core dump when VDR crashes. You may omit it if you 
are not interested in core dumps.

Most likely it's the LANG variable.
