Hi,

I just wanted to add that in NA, some FTA channels
lose sync on playback as well.  It is still true that
"live" viewing always works properly. This may change
your
hypothesis a bit.  
I read somewhere that in NA the live data is variable
rate to better utilize the bandwidth.
