[vdr] VDR deletes directories

Nope, vdr even kills symlinked directories.
This can cause quie a fuzz if you link system directories.
I even have this when symlinking /cdrom [/dev/cdrom] for access to vdr files on CDROM.
Also here it's extremely advisable to have a dummy file at the mount point location to have vdr keeping his fingers off the mount point.

Just a suggestion: a sensible means of access rights would be a good think for VDR to do.
It's very critical to setup a system using externally stored vdr files when VDR kills every empty directory mercyless.
