DVB-T stands for Digital Video Broadcasting via Terrestrial radio.

This is Digital Video Broadcasting for broadcasting of Digital TV via terrestrial Antenna (indoor / roof).

DVB-T transmissions hav already started in some countries (UK, Australia, Germany, Finland). France would start Free To Air DVB-T broadcast in March 2005 (in MPEG2) and Pay Per View broadcast in Septembre 2005 (in MPEG4).

Depending on the Transmission Mode about 15MBit can get transmitted per Transponder (Frequency). This is enough for one HDTV channel or 4-5 Standard Definition TV channels. Multiple channels can be organized in Bouquets (a bunch of services by a particular Service Provider).
