<p></p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>==Introduction==<br /> The Kodicom 8800R (aka 8800, KMC-8800, SK-2003) is a PCI interface card with 8 different video capture ICs each handling one video input. The card utilizes the Conexant Fusion 878A (referred to as the Bt878A) which uses the ''bttv'' driver in the Linux kernel.<br /> <br /> ==Installing the Card==<br /> This card is not autodetected out of the box. However, it is possible to force the ''bttv'' driver to use the correct card type using modprobe.<br /> <br /> modprobe:<br /> &lt;pre&gt;<br /> modprobe bttv gbuffers=16 card=102,102,102,102,102,102,102,102<br /> &lt;/pre&gt;<br /> <br /> This will give you 8 inputs (e.g., /dev/video0 through /dev/video7). Each device will only have the Composite0 input to select.<br /> <br /> ==Video Input Connections on the Card==<br /> Some models don't have any labels on the card to aid you in connecting the BNC daughter cards.<br /> <br /> * Looking at the top of the card the row of 8 pins on the header closest are the positive (tip) pins. The row of 8 pins closest to the board are the negative (ring) pins.<br /> <br /> * The daughter cards can be easily determined by tracing the tip solder points to the pins on the end of the card. Make sure to attach the positive pins on the card to the center pins of the BNC connectors.<br /> <br /> ==Audio Connections for the Card==<br /> There are no exposed audio connectors on this card.<br /> <br /> There is a row of unsoldered connections on the card, but it is unknown whether this provides audio.</div>
