MPEG2 Stream Format, specified as part of the MPEG2 Standard in ITU-T H.222.0. Used for transport channels, e.g. when streaming MPEG2 content over networks.

Networks can be e.g. computer networks, DVB-C Cable Networks DVB-S Satellite Networks or DVB-T Networks.

The MPEG2 Transport Stream Format specifies how to encapsulate MPEG2 Elementary Stream Packets, the MPEG2 Multiplexer procedure, and how to add additional information like PSI Tables and Sync Information.

Normally, in DVB-T (and others?) a transport stream contains more than one program stream and therefore more than one program.
