pvrusb2 is a Linux device driver for a class of USB based TV tuners that feature a hardware MPEG2 encoder (the Conexant cx23416). It was originally developed to support the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2, hence its name. More recently, the driver has expanded its coverage to include a few other analog and (even) digital devices such as:
- GOTVIEW USB2.0 DVD2
- Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1950
- OnAir/Sasem USB HDTV
- OnAir USB HDTV Creator
The driver is included in the LinuxTV V4L-DVB tree. In addition, two other revisions of the driver are available from the project's homepage.
