Just loaded mythtv on Ubuntu 8.04LS on a Dell inspiron 1525.

For some reason I cannot access the database.

I have verified that the mysql database is running and have attempted to use the backend setup but have had no success in accessing or creating/filling the database.

For some reason I cannot login to the database...

I am running an N series dual core 1.84MHz Intel processor with 2GB ram and plenty of hard drive space.

One screen does say it isn't able to find any "backend UPnP devices" although I have the DViCO FusionHDTV7 USB plugged into an available slot and can see it using the terminal command lsusb. Here is the output from that command.

rel@dell-desktop:~$ lsusb

As I am a newbie to linux and ubuntu any help would be most appreciated.

I also have a script file of the attempts to login to the database should they be of any value.

....

Try the MythTV users mailing list for MythTV specific questions; also note that a wiki tends not a good place to solicit help for user support ... especially on the main article page (hence the reason why this was moved to the "talk" page for the article) --CityK 01:22, 22 December 2008 (CET)
