[linux-dvb] Re: what is the recommended system for using vdr "perfectly" Part 2

I also have trouble:

Video playback is not smooth, dropouts every few seconds, sometimes (but
rarely) complete audio loss
nearly 50% of all timers are not recorded, even though they shows up in the
menu (no matter if free or coded channel)
cam stops decoding after switching channels and after some hours
Time and epg data have trouble after 24h

2 DVB cards (1 with ci module of course)
Epox KTA2 board
Duron 750
128MB
Maxtor 80gig drive
2 ethernet cards
Miro 4BM video card
tried Suse 7.0 or 7.1 with kernels 2.2-2.4
machine only runs vdr

System should not have trouble with such low data rate
Could it be AMD related ? Do any Pentium users have trouble too ?
Or is it because of more than 1 card ?

So I still use other equipment to record really important stuff.
If someone could "iron" out these flaws, VDR will be nominated for an Oscar
;-)

I don't have this problem here. The DVB card that holds the CAM
in my system even is the one that does the EPG scan, so channels
are switched pretty often. I am using driver 0.8.2 on kernel 2.2.13.

That's a problem with the multiplexing of the data delivered by the
driver. I hope to be able to implement a remultiplexer directly into
VDR soon...

Never had this problem here.
