sdb is great, I used it for adjusting dish orientation. The dish is set up
somethat weird here, signal strenght is rather low. Interesting fact was
that analogue TV worked even with 1.5db signal strength (with good picture
quality), but digital TV needed approx. 6.5db signal strength to show
properly. Some db more would not hurt I think, but I cannot squeeze more
than 7db out of this setup (55cm dish pointing partly to the roof ;-).

If signal strength is not enough, "cat /dev/video > bla" will produce zero
byte files only (I do not use the FBAS output of the DVB card).
