[linux-dvb] Re: ac3 replay paused vdr hangs

@Andreas Vitting
Thank you for the patched play-ac3.c ...
It works fine for me except the problems you described in this post !

@all
When setting a mark "0" and jumping to this mark (7 or 9) at this "still"
picture the ac3 sound is played in a loop - but vdr doesn't seem to crash as
it does with the pause button.

Jumping for- and backward in the stream does sometime desync video and ac3
audio - any idea about that ?
Or let me ask the other way around: How is the ac3 audio and the video
synced ? I guess the ac3 audio stream has PTS (presentation Time Stamps),
too.
But how is the replaying hardware (e.g. Soundblaster Live) supposed to
"know" when to play each frame ? - as far as i can see there is no syncing
between the SB Live and the DVBs Card !? As with "normal" audio, thats
replayed with the audio out of the DVBs Card both the video and the audio
stream are synced because the Hardware of the DVBs Card plays each frame
according to its PTS simultaneously - but the SB Live is not synced to this
!?
Or did i get something totally wrong here ?

Martin.
