[linux-dvb] Re: divx and dvb

Sure it's possible to convert any video source (including avi) into mpeg2,
which can be played through the dvb card.
I have several times converted divx (mpeg4) movies into SVCDs (using several
windows tools), which played fine in my standalone dvd player.
The same video would play via dvbs card, too.

Maybe you should focus on creating miniDVD (DVD content on CD-R media),
which can be played through the DVD patched version of vdr !?
The main problems of this offline conversion is the time it takes to convert
them and the bigger size of the video in mpeg2 compared to it's original
size in mpeg4 !

Martin.
