AFAIR if you use VDRs channel-menu to re-arrange the channels the timers 
will be changed accordingly.

Channel-lists shouldn't be changed too often, so redundancy is one 
advantage of using just an index. Maybe in the future there will be 
something like favorite/personal channel lists, so that the 
"master-channel-list" will never need to be rearranged.
