There is a MPEG 2 Player available that can play *.vdr files directly:
http://www.moonlight.co.il/products/mpeg2player.html

It installs a DirectShow Filter that is used also from other players like
windows media player.

I used this player for a while and encountered the following problems:
1) audio and video is not in sync (even if settings of the filter are set to
use PTS)
2) With some recordings moving the progress slider in the player application
causes the player to freeze.
3) I had recorded old Sherlock Holmes movies and with this movies the audio
has been played much to fast (like fast forwarding without muting the audio)

Ok - this is a LINUX-Mailing-List - so - please donīt kill me :-)

My question:

I have tryed several WINDOWS-Utilitys and some Player software (WINDVD,
DVD-ATI-PLAYER, WIN-MEDIA-PLAYER with LSXPlugin) but i canīt watch the
recorded Movies from my VDR machine.

ONly if i remultiplex the stream at the linux-Machine i can watch it...

Is there anyone who can watch VDR-Movies directly without remultiplexing -
and if yes - with what kind of software....

PS: Iīm still searching a "clear" linux-Method to convert a
VDR-recorded-Movie to MPEG1 (VCD)
