I don't think that it's uncomon to enter a filename. Most FTA
channels have EPG only for the current day, so programming over
the weekend doesn't works via EPG. Even with EPG I would like to change
the filename often.
I think this is worth _some_ effort.

As I said this is a drawback and I don't like it too.
Of course the production machine I was talking about has the
matrix displayed on it's screen. But most workers got familiar
with this kind of input and are able to do blind-typing after a
short time.

Any may be we can find a way to display the matrix (or whatever
input help) on OSD.

This is one of the reason why I wouldn't like a mobile phone like
entering. And you needs more keypresses to get a character.
